The Divorce Act of Canada specifies that only one ground for divorce is admissible and that is a marriage breakdown. A marriage can be considered broken down for the following causes: you and your spouse have lived separate lives in the belief that your marriage has come to an end; your spouse has committed adultery: or your spouse has been mentally or physically cruel to you. If your own personal situation is one of the above, you can file for a divorce in BC.

Marriage is universal and so is divorce. The investigative faculty of my mind is still searching for more information on how to keep alive a marriage. I’m certainly against divorce, but the experiences of divorcees helps me understand how not to screw up a marriage. Divorce in Canada has become a very common event. In Oriental countries it was something that was hitherto unheard of. But now they too have started cracking the shell and many people are taking divorces worldwide.
