Getting Divorce Made Easy Written on September 16, 2009, by Mark McDonnell.
Don’t come to a wrong conclusion that I’m a supporter of divorce just by reading the title. I’m strictly against divorce but it is just unavoidable in certain cases. For example, I have a friend whose father was a drug addict. What else could my friend’s mother have done in that case? That was the best thing she could do and that has been highly beneficial to her as well as her son, i.e., my friend. The rate of uncontested Canadian divorce is on the rise because people have become broad minded and accepting enough to let their spouse go without blowing the issue out of proportion.

The Temple Daily Telegram recently carried an article about filing for one’s own divorce and getting it without the help of an attorney. In reality, Canadian divorce is complicated to get and costs a fortune to the person who files for it. This can now be achieved easily as the process is undergoing simplification. The divorce laws of Canada let people to get divorce without the help of a lawyer. But filing for a divorce involves a lot of paperwork and stress. That is why many people hire a lawyer despite the huge sum of money that has to be shelled out.
Now a legal aid agency in Bell County, Texas has been roped in by the court to provide assistance to those who wish to file for their divorce on their own. Though this move has nothing to do in Canada it is still worth mentioning because the judiciary system can take a leaf from this book to help Canadians.
Emotional attachment between people is slowly waning off and hence many people don’t find divorce to be a big deal. It has now become easier to forget the past and continue with the present, than before. The process of getting divorce has also become easy. The filer is given a whole set of information regarding the whole procedure and guided through it. It has to be noted that this service is provided only to those who are applying without the help of an attorney, be it an uncontested divorce or a disputed one.
The service offered by the agency seems to be beneficial for both the person filing for the divorce as well as the court. The money one has to spend is also comparatively so low. These are some of the great advantages of this novel method. I hope courts in Canada follow cue and adopt this system so that taking Canadian divorce can be done with a modest fee and less effort.
